I was travelling by myself to Istanbul in 2008. There I met one of the greatest musicians and a darbuka player, a man with the golden groove, Hakan Kaya, who taught me how to play the darbuka. …two weeks living with the musicians in the heart of Istanbul, being part of turkish weeding, practising and listening to so many different kinds of folk music, smoking ”nargile”, drinking a tasteful ”çay”, a good black turkish coffee and ”Rakı” with friends… it’s for sure, everything ends someday, but good…
